State’s top 3 health insurers see ‘06 profits (Boston Globe)
The state’s three major health insurers yesterday reported 2006 profits for the fourth quarter and full year. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, and Tufts Health Plan all benefited from strong investment income.

March 2 (Bloomberg) — Bayer AG, Germany’s largest drugmaker, said it will cut an additional 100 jobs worldwide at its health-care unit, bringing the total to 6,100, as part of a plan to save 700 million euros ($921 million) from 2009.
