Carlos Adame, 19, moved to Aurora from Michoacan, Mexico, about four years ago. The transition from the Mexican state known for its agriculture and white-sand beaches to the Chicago suburbs has been tough. Language barriers and cultural differences confront Adame and his family regularly. Adame is now hoping to make a career as a student in Waubonsee’s two-year Health Care Interpreting program.
